Laelia bahiensis is the only yellow (orangy-yellow) flowered rupicolous laelia species ocurring in the state of Bahia. This is the northernmost part of the range of the group meaning the seasons are not so well maked except that winters are drier. The 1 1/2" flowers are produced on very tall inflorescences and not always have the contasting orange margins on the lip as shown here.
