Terms and Conditions
1- Orders
Only domestic orders in the contiguous 48 United States are accepted through the site. International orders, and also orders from AK and HI should be made by phone or e-mail. The reason is that In these cases the costs for permits, shipping and/or related paperwork will have to be added.
All prices in US Dollars. For orders under $100.00, $20.00 for shipping and handling is added. Orders above $100.00 (including) are free of any extra shipping and handling costs except the cost of plants. In case of returns, shipping costs are non-refundable as per receipt kept on file.
2- Shipping
Shipping is now done by USPS Priority Mail by default. As FedEx charges have been growing steadily throughout the years, we cannot do it anymore without passing this cost to our clients. If FedEx shipping is desired it will be added to the cost even for the free shipping cases as the free shipping is now by USPS only.
Plants are sent potted whenever established. Recent imports that are not as yet established and plants grown in sphagnum moss are sent bareroot.
Orders are usually shipped on Mondays or Tuesdays of the week following when orders are placed.
3- Payment
Orders are accepted only for the 48 contiguous U.S. States. 7% sales Tax will be automatically added for Florida orders.
Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover) and PayPal are accepted at check-out. Credit Cards are also accepted by phone or fax in case of e-mail or phone orders. Charges will show as from Boa Vista Orchidsdba Miranda Orchids in your statement.
For payments by check, only ones payable in the U.S. are accepted. Please make checks payable to Miranda Orchids. Florida orders add 7% Sales Tax.
4- Discounts
For orders between $ 250.00 and $ 499.00, 5% - enter Discount Coupon Discount250
between $ 500.00 and $ 999.00, 10% - enter Discount Coupon Discount500
above $ 1,000.00, 15% - enter Discount Coupon Discount1000
Discount Coupons should be entered at checkout.
These amounts are for the plants themselves and calculated before sales tax and any extra expenses added to the plants such as shipping and handling.
5- Plant Sizes
The sizes mentioned for each item relates to the size of the pots, and it is aproximate. For example, we use primarily square pots and a 3" pot is not 3" on each side, but a bit less than 3" on side and more than 3" on diagonal. The pot size also doesn't usually tell us about how far away from flowering a plant is as this is dependent on each plant; there are species that flower in 2" pots while others are still far from blooming in 3" or 4" pots.
When we mention NFS (near flowering size) or FS (flowering size) it means that plants are about one year from flowering or are mature, respectively. Plants are NOT shipped in flower.
